About
The most beautiful results should still feel like you.
Inspired by HOAN Clinic in Seoul, Atelier by HOAN brings a Korean philosophy of slow aging and highly personalized aesthetic care to Hoboken.
The Korean name HOAN (好顔) evokes the idea of a beautiful, radiant face — beauty that reflects health, balance, and vitality. At Atelier, we approach aesthetics with that philosophy in mind.
Rather than chasing trends or treating individual features in isolation, we look at the whole picture: facial balance, skin quality, volume, movement, hair health, and the way these elements change over time.
Our goal is to create thoughtful treatment plans that preserve your individuality while helping you look refreshed and naturally yourself.
From Seoul to Hoboken
HOAN Clinic Seoul was founded around an integrated philosophy of aesthetics, wellness, and slow aging.
Atelier by HOAN brings that philosophy to the United States through a curated selection of Korean aesthetic protocols, advanced technologies, skin-quality treatments, and injectables.
While the technology may be advanced, our philosophy remains simple:
Listen carefully. Treat intentionally. Never over-treat.

Treatments
Beautiful results begin with understanding anatomy.
Rather than approaching aesthetic concerns with a single treatment, we consider the different layers contributing to what you see — from the surface of the skin to volume, structure, and muscle movement.
This allows us to create individualized treatment plans rather than simply choosing a treatment based on a trend.

Understanding Korea's skin-quality trend
For years, aesthetic medicine in the United States centered largely around relaxing wrinkles and restoring volume.
Korean aesthetics has helped popularize another conversation:
What about the quality of the skin itself?
Texture, luminosity, visible pores, fine lines, and the delicate eye area all contribute to how healthy and youthful skin appears.
This emphasis on skin quality is one reason polynucleotide-based aesthetic products have become widely discussed in Korea.
Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides.
In aesthetic settings outside the United States, polynucleotide-based products are used in a variety of skin-quality protocols.
Product formulations, regulatory status, permitted uses, and methods of administration vary by country.
These approaches serve very different aesthetic purposes.
Dermal fillers are generally selected when a treatment plan calls for changes in facial volume or contour.
Polynucleotide-based products are typically discussed in a different context — overall skin quality and appearance rather than facial reshaping.
Korean aesthetics often places significant emphasis on the appearance of the skin itself.
Rather than focusing only on wrinkles or facial volume, patients may also be concerned with:
This philosophy has contributed to the popularity of treatments focused primarily on skin quality.
At Atelier, we don't believe every patient needs every trending Korean treatment.
We first look at your skin. We listen to your concerns. Then we determine which legally available and clinically appropriate options make sense for you.
Because beautiful skin isn't created by following trends. It's created by treating intentionally.
Educational note: Product formulations, regulatory status, availability, and permitted uses differ between countries. Information presented here is for general educational purposes and does not imply FDA approval of any specific polynucleotide product or use.

Understanding skin-tightening technologies
One of the most common questions we hear is: “Which tightening treatment is best?”
Our answer is usually another question:
Best for whom?
Skin thickness, anatomy, degree of laxity, treatment area, age, previous treatments, comfort preferences, and aesthetic goals can all influence which technology may be appropriate.
Two technologies you may encounter at Atelier are XERF and Onda.
XERF is an energy-based aesthetic platform that uses radiofrequency technology.
Rather than choosing a device simply because it is popular, we consider where and how a particular technology fits within an individualized aesthetic plan.
At Atelier, device selection is based on the patient's anatomy, concerns, goals, and the device's applicable indications.
Onda is an energy-based aesthetic platform that uses microwave technology.
It is one of the few technologies we use on both the face and the body: on the face, as part of a skin-tightening plan; on the body, for patients seeking changes in the appearance of body contour. Treatment is performed according to the device's applicable cleared indications.
As with any energy-based treatment, candidacy depends on the patient's anatomy, treatment area, goals, and medical assessment.
You shouldn't necessarily have to choose. That's our job.
Atelier's philosophy is to start with the anatomy and concern, rather than starting with a device.
During consultation, we consider:
We then determine which technology — or combination of approaches — makes the most sense for you.
One aspect of Korean aesthetic medicine that influences our philosophy is the thoughtful use of different technologies and treatment modalities rather than expecting one device to address every component of facial aging.
Sometimes the right answer may be XERF. Sometimes it may be Onda. Sometimes it may be an entirely different treatment.
The strongest treatment isn't necessarily the best treatment. The right treatment is the one selected intentionally for your anatomy, concerns, and goals.
Educational note: Energy-based devices have product-specific cleared indications, contraindications, and treatment areas. Your provider will determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.
Journal · 03 · Korean Aesthetics
When people think about looking younger, they often think first about wrinkles.
But look closely at healthy, youthful-looking skin and you'll notice something else. The skin often appears:
Smooth. Even. Luminous. Clear.
This is why skin quality plays such an important role in Korean aesthetics.
Injectables can be incredibly useful when appropriately selected. Neuromodulators can address certain expression-related concerns. Dermal fillers can address volume and contour.
But neither replaces caring for the skin itself.
At Atelier, we think of skin as the canvas.
Treatments addressing texture, pigmentation, redness, visible pores, fine lines, and overall luminosity can play an important role alongside treatments addressing facial movement, volume, and laxity.
Another principle we appreciate about Korean aesthetics is the preference for thoughtful maintenance rather than waiting for dramatic changes to occur.
This is closely related to the concept of slow aging.
Instead of asking: “How can I look ten years younger tomorrow?”
We prefer asking: “How can we help you look like the best version of yourself over the next ten years?”
Those are very different approaches to aesthetic medicine.
Facial aging doesn't occur in only one place. Different patients may experience changes in:
No single treatment can reasonably address every concern. That's why an individualized aesthetic plan may involve different approaches at different stages.
Atelier by HOAN was created to bring elements of this philosophy to Hoboken.
We combine Korean aesthetic influences with individualized medical assessment and carefully selected technologies and treatments.
The goal isn't to make everyone look the same. The goal is preservation.
Healthy-looking skin. Thoughtful treatments. Results that still look like you.
Journal · 04 · Philosophy
At Atelier, we prefer a different philosophy. Slow aging.
The idea is simple: rather than waiting until you're unhappy with multiple changes and trying to correct everything at once, we think about aesthetic care as a long-term relationship.
Over time, changes can occur in:
And these changes don't happen at exactly the same rate for everyone. That is why age alone doesn't tell us which treatment someone needs.
Slow aging isn't about trying to look 25 forever. It's about preserving the features you love while thoughtfully addressing changes as they occur.
For one person, that may mean focusing primarily on sunscreen and skin quality. For another, it might eventually involve neuromodulators. Someone else may benefit from an energy-based treatment. And another patient may not need any of those yet.
You don't automatically need a neuromodulator because you turned 30. You don't automatically need filler because you turned 40. And you don't automatically need a tightening procedure because you turned 50.
We treat people, not birthdays.
Your anatomy, skin, lifestyle, concerns, and preferences matter more than the number on your birthday cake.
What you need today may be very different from what you need three years from now. That's why Atelier treatment plans are designed to evolve.
We can reassess your skin, anatomy, concerns, and goals over time and adjust accordingly.
The goal? Not to stop time.
To age beautifully through it.

Understanding neuromodulators
It's one of the most common questions in aesthetics. And the answer isn't quite as simple as choosing a brand.
At Atelier by HOAN, we offer two botulinum toxin type A prescription products: Daxxify and Jeuveau.
While they belong to the same general category, they are distinct prescription products with their own formulations and FDA-approved labeling.
Botulinum toxin type A products temporarily reduce activity in selected muscles.
In aesthetic medicine, appropriately selected treatment can be used to address certain expression-related concerns. However, FDA-approved aesthetic indications differ between products.
Daxxify is a peptide-formulated botulinum toxin type A prescription product. It has its own formulation, dosing, prescribing information, and FDA-approved indications.
Jeuveau is a botulinum toxin type A prescription product developed with aesthetics in mind. Like other products in this category, it has its own FDA-approved labeling, dosing, and indications.
Duration varies.
Product, dose, treatment area, muscle strength, metabolism, previous treatments, and individual response can all influence how long a patient notices an effect.
This is why we avoid promising that a particular product will last a specific number of months for every patient.
Our philosophy is anatomy first. Before selecting a product or dose, we look at:
Some patients prefer significant movement to remain. Others prefer a smoother appearance.
There isn't one correct aesthetic.
Our goal isn't to erase expression. It's to understand it.
Then we create an individualized treatment plan based on your anatomy and preferences.
Educational note: Botulinum toxin products are prescription medications with product-specific indications, contraindications, warnings, and prescribing information. Your provider will determine whether treatment is medically appropriate.
Journal · 06 · Anatomy
A line, fold, shadow, or change in facial contour can have more than one contributing factor.
That's because your face isn't one-dimensional. Neither should your treatment plan be.
At Atelier, we simplify aesthetic assessment into several interconnected areas.
Tone, texture, pigmentation, redness, pores, and surface quality.
Changes in firmness and elasticity can influence how the skin looks and behaves over time.
Changes in facial volume can alter proportions, contours, and shadows.
Underlying facial anatomy influences the shape and support of the face.
Facial muscles create expression and contribute to certain dynamic lines.
Imagine a patient comes in concerned about a line around the mouth. Simply treating the visible line isn't automatically the answer.
We first ask:
Often, the most natural-looking treatment plan begins with understanding why something is happening before deciding how to address it.
This is why Atelier consultations may include discussion of more than one modality. Depending on your anatomy and goals, a plan might involve:
Faces aren't supposed to be perfectly symmetrical. They're not supposed to be completely line-free.
Movement, proportion, and individual characteristics are part of what makes a face recognizable.
Our goal isn't perfection. It's balance.
By treating the face as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated imperfections, we can create treatment plans designed to preserve your individuality.
Listen. Design. Treat.
